burn mp3 on dvd-r
How do you burn a movie onto a DVD?

I have the movie on my computer, I have a blank DVD, and I have a DVD writer driver. Now, the question is.. how do I burn it onto the blank DVD so that the movie will play on any regular DVD player?

For one thing, I need to know the following:
1) What format does the movie have to be in (mov, avi, etc) when I burn it onto the DVD, in order to ensure that a DVD player will play the movie properly?
2) I want to edit some of the movie before I burn it, like censoring some parts out (nothing dirty, just don’t want to be too offensive to children). What program should I use to do that?
3) Is there certain restrictions I need to know (like, burning a mp3 CD won’t work on regular CD players) such as in formatting, resolution/size/quality of the movie on my computer, or what kind of program/blank DVD (R or RW) I need to use?

Thanks a lot

1. I recommend using a DVD-R. The best movie file type is .avi for a DVD. Burn it using your software(Nero etc.) and make sure you finalize(dont choose multi-session)
2.For editing i REcommend Magic Media You can download it from perfectdownloads.com choose free trial and the video editer is on the right side with full frame-by-frame editing capabilities.
3. Cd/DVD players will have a small decal indicating if they play MP3 cd’s. Resolution of movie for burning only really determines quality. I recommend NTI CD & DVD MAker 7 I forget where I got it, but you should be able to find it.

Erase DVD-RW with Nero Burning Room Download Nero for Free.flv
