Free Mp3 Editor Cutter

By admin

What is an easy/simple (& free) MP3 cutter/editor?

I’m looking for a program to splice mp3 files. The only thing I plan on using it for is editing podcasts of my favorite radio program (cutting out funny stories/bits out of 30min file-blocks and saving as smaller mp3s I can put on my iPod).

So I don’t need many features. I just want something where I can basically set the cursor at the spot I want (like :17sec or w/e) and click a button to cut it there, etc.
Oh, and FYI

I have Audacity now (as I know that is a well known one, and people will suggest it), but I really don’t like the interface and whole operation of it (in regard to what I’m trying to accomplish —> clicking doesn’t move the spot of the track, you can’t just split-cut, you have to cut a whole region…..among other things)
And I’d prefer something that’s 100%, not something that is “free to try”, or where the free-version has limited features (unless I can still accomplish all of ^^that with said features)

I use Sound Forge for my major editing needs. .
Even with that you can’t just place the cursor and activate a function.
An area has to be selected / highlighted before any functions become available.
Audacity in my opinion is the best of the rest in freeware audio editing apps.
Over the years I’ve tried multiple different audio editing/recording apps which all claim to be the best but still finish up with Audacity.

I installed this free app two days ago so haven’t fully explored it’s abilities yet.
You might like to give it try.
