MP3 Sony Walkman Problem? No Software, No Video Uploads!?
Ok, I bought a Sony Walkman(MP3 Player) and as I opened the package, I realized there was no CD with the software to upload videos to my player. As I turned it on, I wanted to get all the music, videos and photos already pre-loaded on there. Well I couldn’t find a delete button(to delete files) so I formated the device.
When I read the directions, is said the software for uploading videos was on the player, but when I checked, I couldn’t find it. I’m not sure if my formating it deleted it or not.
I’ve searched for hours online and no video converter will successfull load it(two said they did, but once I selected video on my player, said there were no video files).
I went to sony’s website and entered the code number on the back, but it kept telling me it can’t find or recognize my player.
I’m really pissed off with wasting my money on this player. But can anyone help me or anything.

I’ve never dealt with that player, but i have done my share of mp3 crap-fixing.
Ok:
1) Download sony’s application and firmware. Install the app and see what happens. if that works, then do the firmware

2)next, if you have windows 7, go to computer, right click and go to properties. At top left, you’ll see device manager. click on it, then find “portable devices” on the list. hit the drop down and see if your device is there. if its not, then windows should install it, OR it will be installed after you install the apps above.
IF its there, but has a little ” ! ” on it, then right click and uninstall it. windows will reinstall it for you and it may work.
3) if you have XP, then look up how to run the Device Manager there, and find the driver you need (its the same stuff, but you just need to install the driver yourself – windows 7 is just a bit more automated)
4) … If 1-3 doesn’t work, then i suggest you find a more powerful geek than i (preferably a friend you don’t need to pay!)
NOTE: The whole trick is to get windows to recognize the device, and let it in!
