Mp3 Codecs Vista

mp3 codecs vista
Why does my music skip in Windows Media Player?

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop with Vista and every time a play music, the song will skip towards the end. The songs are in a MP3 format and scanned with a virus scanner so it’s not the file itself. I think it might be the codecs but i’m not sure. Any suggestions other than calling Dell and having to wait forever to speak with someone that can barely speak English?

I found out from a tech friend of mine to go to the Sound Icon under control panel, click on the Speakers Icon, click the Enhancements Tab at the top, and check the Disable All Enhancements box. Click Apply and enjoy.

You could be experiencing lag on your laptop. Try closing as many programs as you can manually and ending processes through task manager. Yeah it looks like the default amount of ram is 512mb so yeah if you have like 3-5 programs it will lag up windows media player which will lag up the songs being played in windows media player.

Maybe buying a laptop cooler will help also because one heat builds up on a laptop it can slow down the performance.

If none i mentioned above helps, try: check for viruses, format your computer, or take out the two 256mb sticks of ram and installing two 1GB ram sticks, especially for vista! Or at least upgrading to 1GB of ram(two 512mb sticks)

Play DivX Movies and more in Windows Vista
