Mp3 Ubuntu Rip

By admin

do you think natty narwhal is really the worst ubuntu by far today?

i think its best one so far! no old fashioned errors like hardy heron or feisty fawn, i think this one that the best milestone turning point for ubuntu, its really getting user friendly and you only have worry about just a few drivers like printing or lame for mp3 ripping!

I have been following the development of Ubuntu 11.04 quite closely and I feel the implementation of the Unity Desktop is a retrograde step. I have the Beta 1 of Natty Narwhal running on the Hard Drive I keep back for testing.

When you login I suggest opting for ‘classic ubuntu desktop’ instead of Unity and you will see that Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal is shaping up to be the most promising release since perhaps as far back as Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn which was nothing short of outstanding given the time and the major advances made from the release of Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft

Ubuntu 11.04 currently ships with the faster Kernel 2.6.38 and may get Kernel 2.6.39 on or soon after release. Currently have to install Kernel 2.6.38 from a PPA on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Ubuntu 10.10 however it is a worthwhile upgrade

There are drawbacks with more recent releases of Ubuntu however. Try running Compiz using Intel 82845G Graphics on modern day releases and there is all but no hope whereas Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Hardy Heron there was no problem whatsoever. Support issues began with Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope and it has not been addressed since for older Intel Graphics.

Change is good if it is not at the expense of stability and Ubuntu is changing at a dramatic rate with each release
